I just wanted to say thank you for ANFE, especially Coumba and the sponsors.
I can tell you that I hated school, but because of this project now I hate to miss school. Even if my mother asks me to stay at home to work, I would refuse and go to school. She would tap me several times but now she knows that I love to go to school and since Mrs. Coumba talked with her, I am free.
I help the younger girls of the project to read and go to the school center and make calculations.
But it is necessary that the project works with children that are hit and violated, I find this disgusting. If I grow up I want to become a lawyer and imprison rapists and mean men. Here men believe that women are slaves or candy to eat.
Sponsors, I ask you to help more because we can have a room for the young girls to talk about our problems. Thank you for all that you do for us.

I write this letter for you, to say how much this project has changed my life. My mother died while giving birth, and I was there. I have six brothers and sisters but two sisters who were married at the age of 14. My father is nearly blind and works as a guard at a school. We have only one room in our house. We didn’t eat but once per day and I must help all my brothers and sisters because my two big sisters are married and in the village. I don’t even have many clothes to wear.
ANFE gave me clothes, books, and paid for my school. Today I am at school! I am a volunteer in the group of big sisters and I help the smaller girls succeed because I cannot pay ANFE and without them I’d be a prostitute or a beggar. I asked my father to never force his daughters to get married because getting married so young is horrible. My dream is to become a midwife to save the lives of mothers during birth and help women learn how to give birth safely. I want this project to continue because it saves a lot of lives and I’d like for us to have a youth house where we can meet to raise awareness about health and education, but also give girls in the project the chance to get together and talk among ourselves. Thank you to everyone, and thank you to Coumba who is our mother and a model for all the girls to follow.

School created an idea in me that I never before had even imagined, because this idea is so great. Going to school has brought us many things and allows us to know what is possible in life. And for me, I would like to become a doctor. It is a profession that I have always admired since I was a little girl. And I will study and be able to take care of people. I love this profession that allows me to assist patients that have no other way. This dream may break due to some subjects such as math and English I must have teachers to get this done, but this was not possible because my parents are very pour and cannot help me with this plan. For that sponsors play a large role. They participate in future by providing us a way to go to school. I count on realizing my dream of being a doctor.
