ANFE Accomplishments

- 92 girls are enrolled in local primary schools

- 6 girls have gone on to high school

- 300 women have learned basic accounting and business skills through established neighborhood microfinance groups

- 95% of mothers in the program are engaged in economic activities that are now providing steady incomes and have improved the lives of the girls and their families. The result: better meals, school supplies, clothes, and living conditions

- A new tutoring and big-sister-little-sister program to supplement home lives in which parents are unable to help their girls with homework and studies. This has given older girls experience in mentoring and contributing to empowering other women in their communities.

Participating families have seen the importance of educating their girls, which is creating a gradual acceptance within their communities of supporting girls’ education.
